Piano Books for Young Beginners
Young minds amaze me. I’ve compiled a list of books that I believe are a great launching pad for young beginner piano students, especially those from pre-k to 1st grade.
Alfred’s Basic Piano Prep Course Level A comes with four books.
I love this book for young beginners! It’s a great starting place with multiple pages to practice finger numbers before moving to reading notes. I also really appreciate that it introduces the bass clef staff before introducing the treble clef staff. Alfred does a great job of keeping the pieces simple yet engaging.
Alfred’s Basic Piano Prep Course Level B comes with four books.
A perfect follow up to level A! Level B continues to re-enforce reading from the staff. There are simple yet tuneful melodies as harmonic and melodic intervals are introduced.
